Class 5 and 6 have had their second and final drama session on Silas Marner with Pavla from the Theatre Company Blah Blah Blah (and Mrs Hazell and me!).
It was a really successful day with all the children engaging wonderfully with story and characters. The secrets came thick and fast right until the end, but the classes will get a chance to read the book in class to find out what happens.
The story so far:
Silas was framed, rejected from his communitee and lived a very solitary life weaving all day every day… until an unexpected visitor changed his life forever! Eppie, a cold, orphaned two-year-old turned up and Silas’ days were never the same.
Children were involved in freeze-framing, giving parental advice, looking after toddlers, empathising with characters and loads besides! They were also fantastic observers of parts of the play when they weren’t actively involved.
Pavla was really impressed with the way both classes worked, so thank you and well done to everyone.
