For the last two weeks, we’ve been doing various activities as part of a mini-topic on robots. Children have worked hard, with great teamwork, to follow instructions and build a Lego robot.
Our robots are pretty high-tech! We can program them to move in sequences and react to noises, lights, motions and impact. Children were pretty impressed when they realised that they managed to build something so high-tech without any written instructions – it was all just very detailed diagrams! Children selected componants, discussed building strategies and swapped roles to share the responsibilities, all with little assistance. I’m really pleased with their ability to work together as well as with how mature they all were during the lessons.
A big well done to all of year 5!
