Chocolate Assembly

Thursday 10 February 2011

Well done to all of class 5 for today’s choc-tastic assembly!

They’ve all worked hard with limited time to make our first assembly this year a success. Children told the story of the history of chocolate from being used as an art material by the Olmecs in Central America in 1500BC to World War II soldiers being given chocolate as part of their rations.

Some children really got into character with suits and moustaches! It is, however, pretty difficult to dress like an Aztec, so spears were needed as props to aid the imagination!

Children will be performing again for the second half of the school as well as a visitor from South Africa, who is here to learn about how we do things in Moortown as part of our link with her school in Durban.
