This week’s homework is Talk Time.
I can find out about a job.
Recent class discussions have shown that children have limited knowledge of jobs, responsibilities and qualifications needed. This homework is designed to help children find out a little more about the world of work!
Children should discuss a job (or two) with adults. They could research a job they’re interested in or find out about one that an adult in their lives has done in the past. It’ll help develop economic awareness.
You could discuss:
- What sort of skills are needed?
- What responsibilities come with the job?
- What qualifications are needed in order to get the role?
- What are the best and worst things about the job?
Children will be discussing their homework in class, so don’t need to write anything down, just be ready for a discussion.
As usual with Talk Time homework, if an adult at home could write a short comment to say that they’ve discussed the homework with the child it would be great.
