Our new Big Topic is called Snowbound. You may not have noticed the snow around our school but in Years 5 and 6 we’ve seen the huge drifts climb to over 2 metres high.
The problem now is that we’re stuck in school!
…or that’s what we’re imagining anyway. Already, Children have started learning about snow and sketching winter trees as part of this topic. There’s a strong link between Snowbound and literacy, with plenty of time to practise a variety of writing types.
How can you help?
Why not encourage your child to do some extra research on cold climates or Arctic animals and their adaptations in preparation for an upcoming science topic?
