This week’s homework is Talk Time.
I can discuss what I liked best about World Book Day.
We’ve done quite a lot of book-themed learning this week, from bar graphs of reading preferences and line graphs of reading speed, to Captain Pugwash book covers, treasure maps and re-writing a whole book.
For their homework, children should discuss with an adult what they liked best about the week. As discussions are our literacy topic next week, this will be a good introduction to the idea of hearing different ideas. Adults can help by asking questions and looking for a full response with reasons to back up their ideas.
Connectives like because, but, or so will help and words like however, despite or furthermore will be even better for supporting writing next week.
