Moortown Primary is a ‘single-form entry’ school. This means we take only one class each year and so have one class in each year group. Classes are limited to a maximum of 30 children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 (like all schools), and classes in Years 3 to 6 are usually around this size, too.

This week in phonics, we’ve been learning about words that contain different ‘oo’ phonemes. Some of this week’s spellings contain the graphemes ‘ue’, ‘ew’ and ‘split u-e’.
The children will be tested on these words next Friday 7 October.
Please encourage your child to try practise the words by putting their words in a sentence using our handwriting guide. Also, look at the spelling activities guide for some ideas to practise these words.
