Our whole-school homework this week is:

Living and Learning:

I can say one good thing about myself… is our Living and Learning statement this week. Self-esteem is how you feel about yourself. These feelings can change as things in your life change, such as going to a new school or becoming a brother or sister. Does your child recognise their strengths? Do they know subjects at school they’re strongest at? Outside school, do they know what skills are they especially good at? Just as importantly, what are their strengths in their character? (Think back to Autumn 2 when we thought about giving and receiving compliments – there’s a link here: does your child accept compliments?)

Reading: please make sure your child is reading on a daily basis.

Number Fact Fluency: use Numbots or Times Table Rock Stars in regular short bursts.

Talk Time:

This week’s homework links with staying safe.

I can talk about how to be safe near drugs (over-the-counter medicines and prescription drugs, for example)

Talk about how to stay safe around medicines and other drugs. Think about what you have learnt in school and discuss why medicines should only be taken when given by a trusted adult, doctor or pharmacist. You could talk about where medicines are stored, why they should never be shared, and what to do if you find medicine that does not belong to you.
