Literacy

Book of the week: The smartest giant in town

Listen to the story of the week.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfiPrA8E3qE

Draw the characters from the story.

Talk with your adult about where the story is set and what happened.

Maths- 1 more

Count to 20 using the song (click on the link below) or chant the numbers forwards and backwards.

Oh no! The song seems to have forgotten the number 0! We talk lots about the number 0 being nothing but still being a number. Sing the song again including the number 0.

Solve the number problems:

Then, 1 more rabbit hops into the garden. How many rabbits are there now?

Then, my friend gives me 1 more.

How many do I have now?

Then 1 more child jumped on.

How many children are on the bouncy castle now?

Can you draw the maths stories?

Challenge

Can you make up a maths story using 1 more?

If needed you can use objects to help you count.

Have a good day!
