Testing nets to see if they make cubes

What a great 3D dodecahedron!

Cross-country
The Year Four cross-country competition that was due to take place in November has been rescheduled for Friday 18 February. The children will have their lunch as usual at school and then be taken in mini buses to Cardinal Heenan. We’ll return in time for the end of the school day. Children will need their PE kits in school that day. It should be a fun end to the half-term!

Allerton Grange Visit
Year Four have been invited to go to Allerton Grange next Wednesday (26 January) to take part in dance and multiskills sessions.
We’ll be walking there in the morning and returning to Moortown in time for lunch. Please ensure children have their PE kits in school.
Class Assembly – To Infinity and Beyond!
Don’t forget Year Four’s class assembly on Thursday 27 January. It will start at 2.45.
We look forward to seeing you then!
Topic
“It was great fun going to the museum!”
“I liked making the solar-powered cars.”
These are just a couple of the positive comments from the Year Fours about our last topic, ‘All Aboard’.
We have kick-started this year with a mini-topic on South Africa. The children have already used the atlases to locate South Africa and its surrounding countries. The African animal art work has really brightened up our classroom too!
Our main topic this term is ‘To Infinity and Beyond!’ As we will learn all about space, this topic is mostly science-based. However, there will be links with some other subjects such as literacy, DT and ICT.
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break! Parents’ evening will be held at the end of the half term but in the meantime if you have anything you need to discuss, please feel free to come and see me.
