Mrs Taylor works three days each week. She does not have her own class. Instead, she oversees others teachers’ planning, preparation and assessment time (teachers are entitled to 10% of time out of class for ‘PPA’), teaching amongst other things RE and French and working alongside Higher Level Teaching Assistants who also cover during PPA.
Q. Where do you come from?
A. Leeds. I grew up in Horsforth.
Q. What is your favourite subject?
A. At school I enjoyed geography which I went on to study at university. At Moortown I especially like teaching SEAL and PE.
Q. What is your favourite food?
A. Italian or Thai but I do love a Sunday roast.
Q. What is your favourite animal?
A. All types of cuddly Australian animals such as kookaburras, wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, platypus and koalas. I’ve been fortunate to see all except a platypus in the wild.
Q. What is your favourite sport?
A. I enjoy lots of different sports including netball, tennis, swimming, rounders, yoga and football. My favourite team is Newcastle United.
Q. Why did you want to become a teacher?
A. I previous worked for British Waterways, now the Canal and River Trust, and decided I wanted to have a more rewarding career so I retrained to be a teacher!
