Knowledgeable Kahooters!

Recently, within our Y5/6 reading lessons, we have been completing Kahoot’s based on texts that we have read.

Our first Kahoot was about the story: Gaby to the Rescue.

Out of 49 of us who played, there could only be three places on the podium.

These have gone to… (drum roll)

Congratulations to Eliza, Daisy and F (whoever you are)!

Keep up the good work, everybody!

Happy Friday, everyone.

Hope you’ve managed to enjoy the sun safely and have some lovely plans for the weekend!

Maths – LO: find missing angles

Today, we put this week’s learning into action and find missing angles in triangles. Click here to begin.
Challenge

Reading  – LO: summarise a text
Today, we would like you to attempt the infamous ERM challenge! Your task is to read this text, and then summarise it without saying ERM!
Your options are:
to either summarise it to someone in your household whilst trying your best not saying ERM. Members of your household could also give it a go, too!
OR
If it is feasible, you could send a video to your teacher with your attempt(s)!
In books: summarise the text in 20, 10, 5 and 1 word!
Have fun!

Science – LO: Earth Squad

After the success of Defenders of Mathematica, I thought I’d do an investigation into what other games we could play.
Introducing Earth Squad! This game is similar to DoM but instead of maths, you must test your scientific knowledge of animals, plants and the human body as you explore some of the world’s most interesting habitats.
Your task is to reach at least level Ace on two habitats. Go for Pro if you like! Go for all three if you’re up for it!!
Send me a picture of your character and any special items you have accrued.

We would like you to tell us:

  • what the book is about
  • what has happened so far
  • your opinion of the book and why you have this opinion
  • is it comparable to any other books you’ve read/know about

When describing your opinion about the book, it’s really important that you give reasons for your point of view, too!

When giving your reasons, remember to use words such as: additionally, furthermore, moreover etc when making your points!
