This week’s spellings are words using ‘oi’ and ‘oy’. A useful way to remember which to use is ‘oi’ is usually in the middle of a word and ‘oy’ is usually at the end. These spellings will be tested on Friday 14 September.

The spelling rule to chant is drop the ‘e’ for ‘ing’.

We’ll be writing instructions in our literacy lessons next week so the spellings are all adverbs which could be used to describe how to do something.
Top tip for writing: You can move the adverb to the start of the sentence with a comma after it to make it an adverb opener. For example:
Stir the porridge gently.
Could become…
Gently, stir the porridge.

The suffix we are going to be learning this week is tion.
Some of the time, these suffixes can be added with simply replacing the final t in the route word with tion. For example. correct and correction. However, there are a few exceptions which we’ll go through in the week.
