Hello Year 3s!

I hope you had a great weekend. I’m really sorry that I set you an outdoor art lesson on Friday on possibly the wettest day of the year! I’m very impressed some of you braved the wet and created some beautiful art. I’m sure Andy Goldsworthy isn’t put off by bad weather – but I certainly would be!

Here’s today’s learning:

Hello Year 2s!

It’s the end of another week. Well done on all the brilliant learning you’ve done. I hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend!

Did you guess who the snake lover in the class is? It’s Junior!

It’s our Love of Reading session today. I’d like you to sit down with a good book and enjoy reading together. You might share a book or your child may want to read independently. Talk about what you’re reading and ask some questions.

I said last week that the maths lesson Friday will always be the Friday Challenges on the website but I’ve found a lesson that looks good. It’s a data lesson about football. Click here for the lesson.

Our final Friday lesson is the art project inspired by Andy Goldsworthy’s artwork. Click here for the video which introduces the project.

Hello Year 3s!

How are you? Hope you’re getting on okay. The name of the mountain range that Everest is a part of is, of course, the Himalayas.

And here’s our pupil fact for today:

This member of the class is mad about snakes and their favourite is the death adder.

Do you think you know who it is? Email with an answer and I’ll let you know on Friday.

Hello everyone!

I hope your Monday was okay and it didn’t take too much to get into the swing of things. I hope you’re enjoying the reading this week? I love stories about extreme challenges and survival: climbing mountains, polar exploration, adrift at sea, lost in a jungle. These types of books make up at least 75 percent of my Kindle library (the other 35% are maths textbooks)!

Anyway, here’s yesterday’s answers:

Hello Year 3s!

It’s the end of the first week and it has flown by for me! It’s just a shame that the sunshine seems to have disappeared. Thanks very much for letting me know how the children are getting on. I’ve seen some great learning from Jack and Eleanor today! I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll be with you again on Monday!

Friday’s are a little bit different!

The reading lesson is what we call a Love of Reading session in school. I’d like you to sit down with a good book and enjoy reading together. You can ask questions about what you’re reading or about books generally.

The maths lesson comes from the BBC Daily Lessons. Each Friday they have some Friday Challenges. There’s only a few so feel free to look at the Year 4 ones as well. The idea of these is that you work collaboratively as a family to solve them. Click here for the link.

Our final Friday lesson is a new art project about British artist, Andy Goldsworthy. Click here for a video which introduces the project.
