08 June 2020: Home learning
Hello Year 4s!
I hope you had a super weekend. Thanks very much for all your hard work last week. Have a look at the Class News page to see some photos of the things you’ve been up to. Also, have a look at Harman’s amazing photography skills.
Right, today’s work is as follows:
Hello Year 4s!
It’s the end of the first week and it has flown by for me! It’s just a shame that the sunshine seems to have disappeared. Thanks very much for letting me know how the children are getting on. I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll be with you again on Monday!
The reading lesson is our normal Love of Reading session. Relax with a book, talk about books, plan your next read.
The maths lesson comes from the BBC Daily Lessons. If you’re after a few more challenges, feel free to have a go at the Year 5 and 6 ones. The idea of these is that you work collaboratively as a family to solve them. Click here for the link.
Our final Friday lesson is a new art project about British artist, Andy Goldsworthy. Click here for a video which introduces the project.

Here’s today’s learning:
It’s Wednesday which is times tables practice day! This week, I want you to practice your twelve times table. First, I’d like you to use Times Table Rockstars or Hit the Button (https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button) to practise your tables. After that, I want you to complete the sheet. Repeat this task a few times in the week to make sure that you’re improving!
Wednesday is also grammar day. Each Wednesday, there’ll be a short writing task. This week it’s all about prepositions. Y3,4 – Wednesday – prepositions

Hello Year 4s!
I hope you had a good half-term and managed to enjoy yourselves and make the most of the warm weather. Things are changing a little this half-term as school as opening to more children. This means that most teachers will be back working at school full-time. The good news is I’m going to still be doing your home learning. However, I’m also now doing the home learning for Y1, Y2 and Y3. Hopefully, you won’t notice much of a difference but there may possibly be fewer video lessons with me.
Anyway, on to today’s learning…

Half-term Home Learning
Because this week is half-term, we’re taking a break from the usual daily home learning tasks (just like we did at Easter). Instead, we’ve prepared a menu of home learning activities that you might want to dip into this week – these are optional only, but you might want to encourage your child to have a go at being a quiz master, doing some up-cycling, presenting a cookery masterclass or any of the other activities.
Whatever you decide to do, we hope you have a happy and healthy half-term.
