Y5&6 History – LO: Who were the Anglo-Saxons?
Today’s learning is all about the Anglo-Saxons. Last term, we learnt about the Vikings – the group of people who invaded Britain and had a longstanding conflict (one of our History words) with the Anglo-Saxons in order to take control of the land.
Click here for today’s BBC Bitesize lesson. You need to read the article and watch the videos.
Today’s task requires you to respond in a way of your choice. You could:
- complete activity one – make a model of an Anglo-Saxon village
- some other artwork such as drawing or painting
- write a diary entry to show a day in the life of an Anglo-Saxon
- write a script to show an exchange between a family
- create a piece of drama
- write a song/poem or rap
- create a PowerPoint/KeyNote to present what you’ve learnt
- write a debate to show why Anglo-Saxon times were better than today (or the other way around)
- explain how life was different for men and women, boys and girls
- write a job application for an Anglo-Saxon job
As always, we’d love for you to send in a picture of your learning!
